Dan and Catie, Home remodeling Saint Charles, IL
After purchasing an existing townhome, we wanted to renovate some of the rooms to make the house our home. Included in this were a master bath complete remodeling, new carpet, hardwood floor repairs, wainscoting, building a computer niche, and whole house painting.
We have had the pleasure to work with Chris Rosseland in the past and we were very happy with his work. When we relocated back to the Chicago area a few months ago and purchased an existing townhouse, we immediately knew who we were going to call to help us make this house into our home. Initially we made a list of all the projects we wanted to accomplish and Chris worked with us and our budget restrictions to achieve as much work as we could realistically afford right now.

Chris performed an entire master bathroom remodeling, but was able to allow us to utilize the existing vanity, tub, and toilet. When removing the existing shower tile, Chris discovered the builder had not used cement board and instead used regular drywall. We appreciate that Chris partners with us when doing work on our home as we like to be involved with the construction process and we love that Chris watches out for us to make sure our home is as energy efficient and well-built as he can. Chris uses fabulous subcontractors which were all high quality, fun and innovative to work with. There is a lot of creative thinking with Chris and his staff; which makes your space very individualized to meet all your needs and wants. There were so many choices to make, but all the people that Chris employs to work with you are the best.

We also hired Chris to repaint the entire house, recarpet the entire house (including stairway runners and carpet over tile in the lower level), repair wood flooring stains, and replace toilets, sinks, and vanity tops in the powder rooms and numerous lighting fixtures. In the lower level den there was an existing wall closet that we wanted to make a computer niche into. Chris had great architectural ideas for the space and now it appears as though it has been here all the time. Chris and his staff were fabulous listeners of the overall design of the house we were trying to achieve, had numerous choices of options to choose from, and were affordable to work within our budget. There were so many people coming and going from our house, it was great to know that Chris was navigating this project from beginning to end and that we could trust him with our home.

We purchased a house in the fall, but its Chris and his staff that made the house our home. It is so great to come home and know that the people that created it the way you wanted it, cared enough to do a beautiful job and do it the right way. We have never had such a beautiful master bathroom or home. The quality of Chris' work is unbeatable and he makes your home dreams come true; he did for us.

Thom and Michelle Arlington Heights Room Addition
Thom and Michelle

Our project consisted of an addition of a 24x22 family room, a basement underneath it, replaced a one car attached garage made a two car attached garage, new siding on entire house, new roofing with new ventilation system for entire house, new driveway, patio, gas fireplace, moved stairs, brick work , new gutters, soffits, fascia, reblew insulation in entire attic, hardwood floors.
I LOVE ROSSLAND CONSTRUCTION!!!! I could not be happier. Chris Rosseland went from a nice, professional contractor to now a loved part of our family.

I didn't take this remodel lightly; I interviewed 7 companies before deciding on a contractor that I thought would be honest, reasonably priced, and not creepy to have in my home day in and day out. I found that in Chris Rosseland. He has a very kind demeanor to him, and that kindness does not disappears throughout the construction process or after. Chris is involved in the entire process and is on the site on a daily basis. His FIRST concern is his customer’s happiness. His crews are also excellent! His crews were here working when they were supposed to, always on time, and sometimes even on the weekends. They were always polite and respectful of our family, and they did excellent work. None of the framing was prefabricated, all was constructed on site. Chris noticed my drain tiles were not draining properly and installed a new sump pump in the addition area. The attention to details was really impressive. If I wasn't happy with something, all I had to do was tell him and he had it fixed, usually next day, no questions asked. The progress was ongoing; there was no "dead time". Each day I'd come home and think "Wow look at all the work they got done today". On days I was home I never felt like my space was invaded by strangers, they were very respectful. Especially since I have little ears around, there was not any cursing or disrespectful language that we heard also there was not any trash left around or cigarette butts. The work was done on time and on budget. I have referred Rosseland Construction to my friends, family, and coworkers, and neighbors. I wouldn't hesitate to use Rosseland construction on any project. Its funny because I see a home not far from mine that is having similar work done to it but by a different contractor , and I feel sorry for the people because they're home is still being worked on today. We were done in July, and have been enjoying our new space ever since. Rosseland Construction is wonderful.

Andy and Allison, Arlington Heights Home Addition
This was a very large project. We tore down two existing poorly built rooms. They rested on a slab foundation, which we tore out as well. Once the demolition was done, we had a new foundation (with basement) poured, built a new living room on the first floor, and added a second story addition above that space.

It is a little hard to describe, but we went from a single floor family room area on a slab, to a two-story addition over a new basement space.

The new basement space was built to extend our existing basement.

In addition, we re-roofed, re-sided, and re-guttered the entire house and detached garage.
The project was smooth, professional and stress free - not an easy thing to say for such a large remodeling project!

From the start, we liked Chris' ideas and demeanor. As soon as he showed up, he listened carefully to our wants and needs for the project. He immediately suggested some great ideas that we loved. After talking to many contractors, we had a good feeling that Chris was the kind of person we wanted to work with.

Rosseland had great references, great reviews on Angies list, and a competitive price. We were sold.
Chris helped us to find an architect for a very reasonable price to put together the plans for the addition (thousands less than other architectural bids we had received). He walked us through the design process, in conjunction with the architect, and was always able to put solid estimates to ideas during some fun design sessions. Chris was able to think quickly to help us determine how minor changes to the plans might change the overall price for the project.

In short, the planning process was great, and moved at a nice, quick pace.

Chris handled all of the permit process with the village, which was a relief as our village is a little 'temperamental'.
When the work started, Chris and his sub-contractors did great work. We especially liked the carpenters and Chris' partner, Carlos. They were very friendly, willing to explain anything we asked, and very courteous. We had advance notice of all work, so we were always prepared for the next crew of workers. We actually were excited each day to hear about what was going to happen, and to see the project move along.

This could have been a very messy project - mud, sawdust, drywall, nails etc. But Chris and his guys were very careful to clean the job site each day, leaving the house quiet and clean by the time we got home from work (4:30pm each day). Our neighbors even commented about how little mess there was during the project.

Any remodeling project will run into unexpected situations. When we hit ours, Chris acted with integrity and accountability. When the custom windows we ordered showed up, Chris immediately noticed that they were not of a good build quality. Before I even knew that there was anything wrong, Chris had called out a third party inspector to look them over, had begun the process of sending them back, and had ordered new, upgraded windows. The whole situation could have been stressful for me had I been involved - the vendor did not want to give a refund, the maker disputed their poor build quality. But Chris handled all of it quickly and efficiently. We quickly had the new, nicer windows in place.

Overall, I found Chris to be very responsive and communicative. One of my favorite things was that I could email him with a list of questions or issues, and he would quickly respond. Since communicating with your contractor on the phone during the work day can be challenging, this was especially helpful.

All-in-all, this was a very good experience. We have undertaken several minor remodeling projects prior to this, and none have gone so smoothly. Chris Rosseland runs a tight ship, and a very professional remodeling company.

I would highly recommend Rosseland construction to anyone looking for a good, honest, friendly, communicative, and fairly-priced contractor. We will definitely use Rosseland for our next project(s).

Joyce, Masterbathroom remodeling Schaumburg, IL
Overall I was very impressed with the work done by Rosseland Construction. The estimate was not the lowest but I felt very comfortable with Chris Rosseland. I have had some very bad experiences in the past and I needed someone I could trust and Chis has earned my trust. There were some minor problems as the work progressed and I was VERY impressed with the manner in which the issues were addressed - immediate and complete with no arguments. My needs were well met and I am enjoying my "new" bathroom. I was so pleased that I have asked Rosseland Construction to remodel my "guest" bath and to do some much needed work in two of my bedrooms!
Bill and Janice, Master Suite Room Addition Home Remodeling South Barrington, IL
Outstanding job by Chris Rosseland and his team. We purchased a run down foreclosure and wanted extensive work done. Chris designed and built a 600 sq. ft. master bedroom suite over our garage. Rosseland also installed new siding, windows and doors for the entire house. On the inside we did a complete teardown of the kitchen and baths - installing all new cabinets, fixtures and tile and granite countertops. Chris also installed beautiful new hardwood floors and new carpeting. Communication was very important to us. Corresponding with Chris was easy and reassuring. We stumbled into some unforeseen challenges as can be expected with many remodel projects, the matters were addressed quickly and completely. The carpenters, plumbers, electricians and flooring contractor that partnered with Chris were all excellent. It was notable to us that Chris Rosseland has long standing relationships with a network of quality tradesmen. We hired our own contractors for waterproofing and HVAC before hiring Rosseland, Chris worked seamlessly with them too. Bottom Line ... Our home is like new and the finished project exceeded our expectations. An officer of our Homeowner's Association said it looks like a new model home! Job well done!
Joe and Diane Kitchen, basement and addition in Aurora, IL
We had an architect do up blueprints for a kitchen renovation/addition and to add a bedroom/bathroom/laundry room/wet bar/kitchen to our basement. We had 4 contractors bid on the project and Roseland was by far the most professional and the one we felt the most comfortable working with. They were not the lowest price, but they were much more thorough than the other three. They expanded our kitchen, added the above to our basement, and then rebuilt our back deck.
After hearing horror stories from friends and neighbors on various projects that they had done, we were amazed at how smoothly everything went. Chris and his guys were very professional. Chris was at our house every single day. He was on budget and on time. We could not recommend the company any higher. The before and after pictures of our kitchen are amazing. You can't go wrong with these guys!

Mark and Diane, Kitchen Remodeling in Bartlett, IL
From the initial visit through the completion of the project, Chris Rosseland, his employees and his partners were helpful, patient, informative, on-time and on-budget. Pros: Chris Rosseland was a pleasure to work with. He kept every commitment and was completely accessible throughout the project Chris recommended only quality partners. Nicco Interiors (cabinets) was particularly helpful in the design phase. All tradesmen and laborers arrived on-time and conducted themselves professionally. Over the 4 weeks to complete the job, the work area was kept very clean and considerable attention was paid to minimize impact to the rest of the home. Outside of the scope of the project, and at no expense to us, Chris had our entire first floor cleaned (nice touch!). We love our new kitchen and feel that it represents everything that we were trying to accomplish. Chris Rosseland and his partners made this possible by exposing us to great ideas, quality products, and a huge dose of patience!
Jeannine and Ryan, Basement Remodeling in Wheaton, IL
Chris and his crew remodeled our unfinished basement into a beautiful family room, laundry room and storage room.
We interviewed several other contractors to do this job, and I am so glad that we hired Chris. From the beginning to the end, he and his crew were conscientious, professional and thorough. Whatever he said would be done, was finished on time and with quality workmanship. He was approachable and offered suggestions and ideas and answered my questions as they arose during the project. This was the first major remodeling project we have ever done and I was very nervous about choosing a contractor. I would hire Chris to do any future remodeling on our house as he made the process very easy on my family. The entire project was finished ahead of his time estimate and Chris guarantees his work, although I will be surprised if we have any problems.
Kathy and Rainer,Family room addition Hoffman Estates, IL
Approximately 1,100 sq foot addition including a great room, office, and bedroom with basement underneath, extension/remodeling of kitchen and remodeling of master bedroom and bathroom.
Chris with the GC we worked with to design and build our 1,100 sq ft addition. Chris finished the project in 5 months. He was very helpful and cooperative through the process; helping us sort out a multitude of decisions. The contractors he used for each phase did high quality jobs, were very efficient and respectful of our personal space. Chris is very easy to work with and kept our desires and best interests in mind through-out. We had structural issues early on that Chris worked through with us very collaboratively. I highly recommend working with him. We are thrilled with our new space!

Dale & Judy, Master Bath Remodeling Bloomingdale, IL
We wanted to write this letter to you to express how pleased we are in the way our two bathroom remodeling jobs turned out. Although we had several quotes, after meeting you and going through the quotation process, the decision to go with Rosseland Construction was really very easy. You came with not only with your referrals and certifications, but also you really seemed to listen to what we envisioned for our project. Together we worked to create a plan and a budget we could agree on. During the construction process you were always available and open minded to our questions or ideas, and never hesitated to stop by if you felt that there was something that needed your attention or input. We really appreciated those “brainstorming” sessions when something we had planned just wasn’t working, and by pulling our ideas and your suggestions, together we made it right. During the renovation process what we really liked is that you established a schedule and kept us informed as to the progress that you were making. You, your staff and the subcontractors were always there when you said they would be, and everyone was great to work with. We had numerous communications with you both verbal and via e-mail and you always responded quickly. We really felt that you were there for us. Completely redoing both the master bath and hall bath was a major undertaking, and you did everything you could to keep the inconvenience to a minimum. We were very pleased with the way that you kept our home as clean as possible, while we were gone during the day and then making a special effort at the end of the day to do the last minute clean up… many times we would really wonder if anyone had been there working that day until we actually went into the room and saw the progress.

We cannot express how happy we are with the end results in both bathrooms, and we know that part of this is because you understood what we wanted, and unless there was a real reason not to do something, you encouraged us to do it. We have been using both bath-rooms for several weeks now, and still walk in and still comment on how glad we are we had them done and the fantastic job that was done by Rosseland Construction.

We have already and will continue to recommend you and your company to anyone, and we welcome any inquiries from potential future clients. Again, we appreciate the great job, experience, and the personal, hands-on approach to doing business that is hard to find today. I am sure we will be contacting you in the future for other jobs… Keep up the great work!!!

Jim and Kristi, Family room addition Lake Zurich, IL
Rosseland Construction built a room addition onto our house which consisted of a ground level room and basement level room. The upper room has a cathedral ceiling with lots of windows. They upgraded our electric service panel and A/C unit. They resided our entire house with vinyl siding and replaced all the bedroom windows. We decided last year to add onto our house rather than move. We were looking for a builder that wasn't going to go out of business halfway through the project, was going to do quality work, and had experience adding onto a basement. We met Chris pretty early on in the process and knew right away that he was our first choice. He was extremely professional and very easy to get along with. The first day he came out to look at our job he brought a folder with information about his company, credentials, and references. He was very quick at responding to messages, always within a day and usually even within minutes. He had excellent reviews on Angie's List, excellent BBB rating, and no problems turned up in the Experian report we ran on him. He was helpful with providing written estimates for the banks we were trying to get loans from and revising the estimate when we had to scale back the project. He did this without even knowing if he was getting the job. Also, he was finishing up a job where he added onto someone's basement and had us come over to see how it turned out for ourselves. Nevertheless, we felt that we had to do our due diligence and get bids from a few contractors. Although a couple of them came in a little lower they couldn't come close to Chris with regard to reviews, credentials, communication, and personality. Considering everything mentioned above, there was no question that we felt most comfortable with Chris doing the job and it was worth the money. After signing the contract, the work started within a couple weeks. Chris listened to our concerns about protecting a Maple tree near the work zone and took steps to protect it. He took care with the sections of my fence and deck that needed to be removed during the construction and everything was put back together very nicely. He put up a temporary fence across the backyard so that the work and debris would stay within that area and my young kids could have the other half of the yard to safely play in. In the basement he put down plastic on the carpet, covered up the furniture and toys, and put up a temporary plastic wall to keep all the dust within a confined area. He really took a lot of care to protect our house and minimize any mess. I couldn't believe how fast things were happening. Within 2 months the rooms were done and ready for paint and trim. It was really impressive how Chris had everything scheduled so that there was very little down time. The workers were always on time in the morning and usually done for the day by dinner time so there was very little disruption in our lives for much of the project. There really weren't any problems during the construction but if there ever was something that I wanted done a little different Chris took care of it. We later ended up also having Chris reside the entire house and replace the bedroom windows as well. Everything turned out great and we love our "new" home. Thanks Chris!
Jim and Sandy, Replacement Windows Wheaton, IL
We had all our windows (except one) completely replaced with Pella wood windows. We also had our front door w/two sidelights and our back door replaced. The inside of the windows were trimmed out with wood and the outside trimmed in PVC trim. Chris, the owner, took charge of all aspects of the work. He was easy to deal with and took the time to explain all of our options. Once we had made our decisions, the materials were promptly ordered and we were notified a couple weeks later that the materials were going to be delivered to our house and the work began about a week after that. Chris communicated regularly throughout the install process so that we knew what to expect each day. He took care of getting a dumpster on site and the area was cleaned daily so we weren't crawling over materials at any time. He even was very nice to my mom and my 86-year-old aunt when they came over to "inspect". :) We are very please with our windows, LOVE our doors and couldn't be happier with our experience with Rosseland Construction!
Paul and Margie, Basement Remodeling Home Theatre Carol Stream, IL
Finished a basement including sealing cracks, framing, cabinetry, granite and plumbing for powder room and bar sink, carpeting, pergo, ceramic tile, electrical work, painting, adding/moving HVAC ducts and help with architectural design and provided architectural drawings for permit. Chris and Carlos did a great job. All work was done professionally. If there was a problem, it was immediately addressed and corrected. Chris was always available via phone or e-mail. Although the project took slightly longer than expected, much of it was our fault as we were slow to pick out things with longer lead times. Chris has a good list of supplier partners for such things as flooring, cabinetry, and bath, bar and light fixtures. We didn't always use them, but it was nice to know we had someplace to start and somebody to talk to if we needed it. Overall, a great experience.
Chris and Sarah, room Addition Master Bath Remodeling Arlington Heights, IL
We used Rosseland Construction to build a two-story addition on our 1929 house. We added a family room, mud room and master suite upstairs and bumped out our kitchen. We refinished 75 year old floors, tore out pergo flooring and installed air conditioning. We also tore out our boiler (and radiators) and added 2 energy efficient furnaces.
Chris responded to our call for an estimate within the day and made an appointment for the following evening. We immediately liked him and knew that we wanted to work with him. He was warm, professional, and confident that we could get the home we dreamed of within our budget. Even after receiving several bids, we went with our gut and chose Chris and we couldn't be happier that we did. Chris was a pleasure to work with from start to finish. He really listened to what we wanted to achieve and did not simply try to build a "box" on the back of our house. He immediately established a great working relationship with our architect, which made the process flow quickly and easily. Chris gave us a timeline for the work and he nailed it. His communication was excellent; he speaks with you in person, on the phone or via email to let you know of the daily progress of the job. He gave us at least a week's notice for any inconveniences we might have. His crews are professional, friendly, and respectful. This was especially important for us since we have two young children in the home. Carlos, Chris's right-hand man, was wonderful and such a hard worker. Our friends and family have consistently commented on the high quality workmanship and beauty of our "new" home. Chris truly became a part of our family and we will miss him! We simply can't recommend Chris any higher. He's one of a kind and we would trust him to handle any size job in our home.

Tom and Lori, Room Addition Kitchen Remodel Arlington Heights, IL
Chris Rosseland of Rosseland Construction was the general contractor (GC) on a major remodeling and expansion of our two-story family home in Arlington Heights. This was an architected project which gutted our existing kitchen and extended the kitchen and dining area, and added an upstairs bedroom. Before choosing Chris, we talked to 6 or 7 contractors. We preferred Chris, who was professional, credentialed, experienced and had excellent references. Chris carefully reviewed our architect's plans and gave us a bid we could understand in a timely manner. We liked the facts that Chris runs the project himself, unlike others we spoke to, that he listens well and answers questions, not condescending, not over committed and has not been doing speculative building of homes. There seems to be a lot of turnover and turmoil in some companies, and this is not the case with Chris.
It can be intimidating to conceive such a project, and Chris' work and positive attitude reassured us each step of the way. The project, from the first hole in the ground to finish, except for minor punch list items, took only four months. The subcontractors were all very competent and friendly, and took the time to understand us. There are always minor glitches in such a big project on an existing home, but they were all handled with no problems. In case something is unknown to both of us, there's a one year guarantee on all work. So far, everything is perfect. There were no bad surprises, and we have to say there were good surprises in how well it went. For example, we used our own kitchen designer, which is scary because once we designed the kitchen, it was up to Chris to install everything. He took everything we did, installed the cabinets and appliances and turned our dreams into a beautiful kitchen. Along the way, Chris set up a temporary kitchen for us, so our lives and routines weren't disrupted. Another good surprise is that we never had to move out of the house. Everyone was careful to clean up and move tools and materials out of our way at day's end. Overall, it was a very satisfying project, we would be glad to use Chris again.

Ryan and Lori, Basement Finishing Bartlett, IL
Rosseland Construction completed a full basement remodeling for our home. This remodeling included framing, electrical, plumbing, drywall, carpeting, cabinetry, etc. Rosseland construction completed all the framing, plumbing, drywall, and used reliable contractors/retail for the completion of the electric, carpeting, and cabinetry. Rosseland acted as the general contractor for the project.

How did it go overall? Outstanding! We received Rosseland Construction's telephone number from our local paper. We called and were in touch with the owner, Chris Rosseland. Chris came to our house within a day after our original call and met with my wife. My wife was immediately comfortable with him & his approach. Chris provided us a packet of information on his company, his work, general information & questions to ask contractors, and telephone numbers (better business bureau, state of Illinois numbers, etc.). I loved this approach. No other contractors supplied anything like this. We had a design in mind and that is what we had all contractors bid their estimates against. After 5-6 other bids, and after confirming Chris's references, the choice was abundantly clear. They were able to start shortly after we signed our contract. They started quickly and had people working in our house every day for 7 weeks. Rosseland keeps the work moving & has someone at your house consistently (no week gaps where people aren't working). Chris personally worked with us to confirm the design & the details of the project prior to the start. The project started with the rough framing which Chris & his team completed. The Electric and HVAC were completed by contractors that Chris has worked extensively with and we were very happy with their work & reliability. The plumbing was completed by Chris's team, along with drywall hanging. Another contractor was responsible for the taping, sanding, and painting of drywall. Chris & his team then completed all detail work including ceiling, trim, etc. Cabinetry was purchased through another company recommended by Chris and installed by Rosseland. Carpeting was purchased and installed by another company (recommended by Chris). Both the cabinetry and carpeting was included in the estimate via an allowance, so any cost overage was due to our decisions. A delay in the building of the custom cabinetry (out of Rosseland's control) delayed the completion of the project a little, but was quickly completed once it was in. Before & after work in each of these areas was completed, it was reviewed with us to make sure we were in agreement. The project was a great success overall and is something we are very proud of. Overall Chris Rosseland & his team are fantastic. He is respectful, reliable, and trustworthy. Chris doesn't nickle & dime you and his price is very fair for the work and reliability. Not cheap, not expensive, well priced. While he let's you make your own decisions, he will also guide and provide recommendations when appropriate. Our overall experience was very positive & Rosseland Construction will be our first choice in the future.

Dan and Catie, Attic Remodel West Chicago, IL
We had an unfinished bonus area above our garage through a small access door in the back of our Master Bedroom closet. It had a window and was studded and sub floored. We wanted to have a closet/room built. The room size was approximately 14' x 16'. We were looking for someone to insulate, drywall, add electrical, lighting, heat, and paint/carpet.
Chris Rosseland gave us our first bid. After he left we knew we wanted to hire him but needed other bids. Everyone else who came in had to live up to Chris and they all fell short. Chris' professionalism and upbeat personality spoiled us for anyone else coming in to do work in our house. Chris completed the job so beautifully and completely within budget. In fact, Chris went over and above by finding us a better and affordable way to run heat and a/c into that space, which was something we didn't think we could afford. All of Chris' workers showed up on time, were very clean, and it was my pleasure to get to know them. Each of them really enjoying working for Chris and it shows in the job they do. The trim work all matched the existing work, the drywall installation was fabulous, and the room looks better than we had thought it could. Chris and his staff seem like they have become our family or friends. The job took 3 weeks which was the time frame Chris originally gave us. One of Chris' workers, Carlos, was a real gem and took such great care of us. I would hire Chris again in a heartbeat...in fact I'm hoping to find a reason to hire him again. I cannot say enough great things about Chris and his company. They do a really professional and beautiful job, they are very clean and friendly, and Chris will do whatever he can to stay within a budget and give you the most that he can for it. Each time I walk into my new closet...I thank Chris!

Jean, Bathroom Remodeling Batavia, IL
Complete remodeling of two bathrooms, remodeling of a third bathroom, repair kitchen cabinet, install stove, replaced doors. This project was terrific from beginning to end. And not many people can say that about remodeling. Chris always kept my goal in mind. His suggestions were excellent and some of them even reduced the price. His workers were always on time, left at a decent hour (before dinner), and always cleaned up after themselves. Their work was excellent and I don’t think the project could have gone any better. I'm thrilled with the results - I've rec'd only positive feedback on the bathrooms from realtors and potential buyers. I love the bathrooms and plan to have Chris come out to the new house to remodel out there.
Robert and Julie, Room Addition Kitchen Remodeling Elk Grove Village, IL
Rosseland Construction was the contractor for an addition on my home.
He is superb! He was extremely friendly and totally professional. Not a day went by without contact. He is extremely easy to talk to. He's awesome! Highly recommended.

Hart and Elizabeth Wheaton IL Basement Finishing
Rosseland Construction finished our basement including a bathroom, bedroom and family room. The work included drywall ceilings, wainscoting, bathroom with tiled shower, carpentry change to the staircase.

We spoke with three contractors re the basement finishing project. All three had good reputations for the job we wanted done. However, Chris Rosseland made such a positive impression with his responsiveness to our ideas and questions. His very detailed proposal was provided within a week.

We especially appreciated the use of an architect and the thoroughness of the planning.

Chris was so easy to work with...always pleasant and patient with concerns. Any question was addressed in a timely manner. His employees were punctual, tidy and careful, and most important, the carpenters, plumbers, electricians, painters, etc. did great jobs!

The finished basement is beautiful...we love it!

We would recommend Rosseland Construction to anyone looking for first quality work in their home.

Don and Laurie, Family Room Addition Itasca, IL
Our home was built in 1937 and in need of a major overhaul. Our original intent was to replace the siding and windows and build a small room off the back of the house. Through probing questions, Rosseland Construction was able to understand our needs more fully. Right off, they recommended Pella wood replacement windows so we could maintain the original woodwork which was in good shape. They also worked with us to redesign the front porch of the house, which greatly enhanced its curb appeal. They suggested we change the pitch of the roof over the porch and add a new roof to the entire house. Special trim was added above the windows and doors. The new family room is perfect for us and seems to open up the rest of the house considerably. Rosseland did an excellent job matching the woodwork in the new room with the existing trim throughout the house. The crew was also very particular about cleaning up at the end of each day. The quality of workmanship is top-notch!
From the beginning, a couple of things struck us: 1) Rosseland Construction returned our call right away and were out to give us an estimate within a couple of days, and 2) it was apparent the owner, Chris, sincerely wanted to help us. We had 2 other contractors come to the house to give estimates. They took our blueprints but never got back to us. We were comfortable with Chris and felt Rosseland was the right fit for us. From day one, Chris provided a schedule and stuck with it. Admittedly, we were very lucky with the weather, but we were amazed that his team or team of sub-contractors, showed up each day as planned. We were happy with the decisions we had made regarding the major work that was underway, but the one area we were unsure about was the porch. Chris took the time to understand our needs, did some quick drawings and came up with a plan that we just love. Overall, we simply couldn't be happier with the results!

Chris had an architect draw up exact plans for my approval, got a dumpster, porta potty, plumber, electrician, drywallers, hvac, tilers, carpenters and also had places lined up for me to purchase fixtures, carpet, tiles, cabinets. He also has a great guy named Carlos who does a lot of the work like baseboards, doors and painting. I had a bathroom with shower installed, new walk in storage closet, new laundry room and of course the main family room.

There was never a day without workers and the clean up was impeccable every day. I always had access to Chris every time I had a question and if he didn't pick up the phone he always called right back. He was at the house at all the important times and would drop by at other times. I felt I could thoroughly trust him and Carlos, they make a great team. There was never a problem with Chris even if I thought there might be. The main thing with Chris is everything in the end comes together beautifully...no problem. What a relief. I finally struck gold with Rosseland. He is very laid back but that is combined with outstanding professionalism. My lower level was a total gut of a 1960's Jetson style and it was turned into a very comfortable and updated, sleek piece of art. That may sound like overkill but everyone who sees it can't believe their eyes. It is brand new yet still blends with the rest of the house. I would use Chris again in a heartbeat.

Since moving into our home in 1993, we dreamed of customizing it with a front porch addition. Well, it finally became a reality this past year! We had plans drawn up and started interviewing contractors. Chris was hired after looking at 3 different estimates. We felt very comfortable with Chris and couldn't wait to start construction.
The project started on time with the foundation being dug and concreted. We had decided at the last minute to have a concrete pad put in for a mailbox and Chris easily accommodated us. All the framing, flooring, railings and painting was done by Chris and his crew. The roofing was done by a sub-contractor. Any concerns we had during the construction was handled quickly by Chris. He kept us informed of the schedules for the week and everything was completed on time. All in all, it was a great experience and we would recommend Chris to anyone looking for home improvements.

Rosseland Construction built us a 16' x 18' home addition with an underlying unfinished basement addition. We found Rosseland Construction through Angie's List and had Chris Rosseland out to our home. He was very personable and very interested in making our project perfect for us. His price was very competitive and we liked him, so he got the job. The project moved along at a great pace and did not interrupt our lives at all. The contract spelled out everything and we were never surprised with price add-ons. The architect worked within our town's building requirements to design just the space we wanted. Once we broke ground, someone was at our home almost every day moving the build along. The siding, flooring, paint, everything matched perfectly with our existing home. They were very clean and kept messy areas taped off until they were done (for example, they had to tear up our basement sealing to run furnace ducts, but they kept that area sealed off until it was all back to normal). Chris even made sure that we didn't forget things we didn't want now, but may want later (like a ceiling fan hookup and cable connection), which I really appreciated. Everyone was very professional and if I ever had a question or concern, it was immediately addressed. In addition, my father (who used to be in construction) continues to be very impressed with the room that was built. I would hire Rosseland Construction again in a heartbeat.
